VC UoL visits GDC Drass

KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 16, 2021: Vice Chancellor (VC) University of Ladakh (UoL) Professor S K Mehta visited Government Degree College (GDC) Drass here on Wednesday.
The VC was accompanied by Registrar UoL Imteeaz Kacho, Dean Academic Affairs Rayat Batra University Mohali Dr Neena Mehta, Controller Examinations/Dean Academic Affairs, UoL Professor Deskyong Namgyal, Director Kargil Campus, UoL Kaneez Fatima, Head of Depatment Chemistry, Gujarat University Professor V K Jain, Ripu Jain Retired Teacher and other concerned officers.
VC Professor S K Mehta during his speech praised the beauty of Drass valley and the cultural performance by the girl students. He assured the students and staff members that the new building of the college will be constructed soon.
Kaneez Fatima, Director Kargil Campus, UoL urged the girl students to actively engage in studies. She said that it is encouraging to see girl students outnumbering boys now which is overwhelming to see.
Earlier, Principal GDC Drass Dr Amjad Ali Abbasi formally welcomed the Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries and apprised them about the college, its achievements and challenges through a power point presentation.
It was followed by a cultural programme by the students who displayed the Shina song and dance.
Meanwhile, the VC UoL also visited the Mushko Valley of Drass. He also visited the Kargil War Memorial near Bhimbhat and paid tributes to the martyrs of the Kargil War.
