Vice-President of Ex-Servicemen Chiktan-led delegation calls on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).

Leh, Jan 30, 2024: A delegation led by Vice-President Ex-Servicemen Chiktan, Shri Mohd Fida called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lieutenant Governor Secretariat. Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Secretary, PWD, Ladakh, Shri Micheal D Souza, IAS; Chief Engineer, PWD, Ladakh, Shri Abdul Mutalib were present in the meeting.
Shri Fida apprised the HLG about the status of the Khangral-Sanjak road and requested to expedite the process of the upgradation of the said road. He informed the HLG of consent given by the stakeholders for the upgradation of the road and the submission of the written consent to the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Shakar Chiktan.
Secretary, PWD, Ladakh, Shri Micheal D Souza, briefed that work for the 28 km long road, which falls under the jurisdiction of Project Vijayat, was sanctioned under Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) and the funds for the upgradation of the road will be sanctioned in the next financial year 2024-25. He also informed the HLG that land acquisition for the widening of the road would escalate the cost of the project.
The HLG directed Secretary, PWD, Ladakh to resolve the matter with Sub Divisional Magistrate, Shakar Chiktan.
