    Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra camp held at GDC Kargil, TFC.

    Kargil, Dec 20: The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra camp was held today at Government Degree College Kargil and Tourist Felicitation Centre (TFC) for Wards No. 9 and 10 of Kargil Town.
    Addressing the gathering, Imteeaz Kacho, Administrator, MC Kargil and Joint Director, Information, Ladakh, commended the
    efforts of Municipal Committee in effectively organizing the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra camp at various locations within the municipal limits.
    He also appreciated the efforts of allied departments for setting up their stalls and disseminating information about various central Government schemes among beneficiaries.
    Emphasizing the remarkable contribution of the Young Artists of Kargil Ladakh (Stringmo Group), Kacho highlighted the group’s role in establishing art as a popular genre within the education system. He specifically praised the dedication of girl students of the group for showcasing their talents through art and finding for finding a medium to express their thoughts.
    He also commended the pivotal role played by Sajjad Hussain (Bob) for providing selfless support to the Stringmo Group in enhancing their artistic skills by organizing workshops, exposure tours that contributed significantly to the group’s artistic development.
    Expressing optimism, the Administrator MC said the Stringmo Group holds significant potential to earn accolades for the district on both national and international platforms.
    The Ladakh Craft & Skill Centre of GDC- Kargil had also put up stalls. Kacho praised the efforts of the College as well as the students for making the initiative of skill development a great success. He stated that the expression of art through activities such as embroidery, knitting, tailoring and other forms would not only contribute to self-employment but also foster self-reliance among individuals. He mentioned the introduction of numerous new certificate courses in Colleges of Ladakh by the Higher Education Department in collaboration with the Ladakh Skill Development Mission and encouraged students to maximize the benefits offered by these courses.
    Besides the stall put up for Aadhaar enrolment/updation, there were stalls of the Health Department, Social Welfare Department, ICDS, Handloom and Municipal Committee displaying products and equipment for the awareness of people. The departments provided participants with insights into centrally sponsored schemes.
