Kargil, Sept 07, 2024: A group of 15 para-veterinarians and trained attendants from Animal Husbandry Department, Kargil, were flagged off today by Dr. Gulzar Hussain, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Kargil, for a 10-day specialized training program at North Regional Demonstration and Training Centre, National Dairy Development Board, Jalandhar.
The training, scheduled to commence from September 09, 2024, will focus on artificial insemination techniques and animal health management, essential skills for improving livestock productivity and health in the region.
In his remarks during the flag-off ceremony, Dr. Gulzar Hussain emphasized the significance of this training in advancing technical capabilities of para-vets and attendants. He highlighted that the skills acquired during this program would play a crucial role in enhancing the breeding practices and overall animal healthcare services in Kargil, ultimately benefiting the local farmers and the livestock sector as a whole.
Notably, this is the first of three groups planned to receive this training. Two more consecutive batches of para-veterinarians and attendants are scheduled to be dispatched in the next phases, ensuring that a larger pool of trained personnel is available to implement these advanced techniques in the district.
This initiative marks a key step in the department’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality of animal husbandry services in Kargil, with a focus on sustainable livestock development and farmer welfare.
