2 Ladakh Battalion NCC Hosts First-Ever NCC Camp at Kargil.
Kargil, September 22, 2025: The 2 Ladakh Battalion NCC has achieved a historic milestone by hosting its first-ever NCC camp at Kargil, in the land of martyrs. The initiative marks a significant step in strengthening youth engagement, discipline, and patriotism in this strategically vital region.
The camp was inaugurated with an inspiring opening address by Colonel Suveer Seth, Commanding Officer, 2 Ladakh Battalion NCC Kargil, in the presence of Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), PI Staff, and cadets from both Kargil and Leh.
Over the course of the camp, cadets will undergo rigorous practical training in drill, survival tactics, fieldcraft, and firing exercises, aimed at building resilience, leadership, and teamwork.
Following the inauguration, cadets set out on an endurance hike to Point 3205, designed to test their stamina, determination, and spirit of adventure.
As part of the training program, the Union Territory Disaster Response Force (UTDRF) conducted a series of demonstrations on disaster management and emergency response, in which cadets actively participated. These exercises provided cadets with valuable hands-on experience in handling disaster-related situations, further enhancing their preparedness and sense of responsibility.
Speaking on the occasion, Col. Suveer Seth highlighted the importance of NCC training in nurturing future leaders of the nation and lauded the enthusiasm of cadets participating in Kargil’s maiden camp.
This pioneering effort reinforces the NCC’s mission of character building, national integration, and preparing youth for service to the nation.
