    5th UT Foundation Day, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrated in Kargil.

    Kargil, Oct 31, 2023: The District Administration Kargil organized numerous events to commemorate the 5th Ladakh UT Foundation Day and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and these events witnessed enthusiastic participation from the community.
    In the morning, the Deputy Commissioner was the chief guest for function. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ghulam Mohi–ud-Wani, SE PHE&I&FC, SE PWD, ACR, ACD, besides District Officers, HoDs, government employees, cultural artists, students were present on the occasion.
    Throughout the program, students from various schools delivered captivating and colorful cultural performances that captivated the audience. On the occasion, consolation prizes were distributed among the performers.
    Various departments set up their stalls outside the Auditorium Hall to exhibit their respective progress, and information about various schemes for general public.
    Meanwhile, in connection with the National Unity Day 2023, the Deputy Commissioner also flagged off “run for unity” from Tourist Facilitation Centre (TFC) Kargil.
    ADC Wani, SE PHE&I&FC Kargil, SE PWD Kargil, ACR, ACD, district officers and officials besides students from various schools of district Kargil participated in the run. The run for unity after passing through main market Kargil culminated at Auditorium Hall, Kargil.
    The speakers on the occasion paid rich tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary by remembering his extraordinary works for keeping India united, his role in the freedom movement and his exceptional administrative skills and foresight.
    Pertinently, the National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed every year on October 31, on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the ‘Iron Man of India’. The National Unity Day 2023 commemorates Sardar Patel’s 148th birth anniversary.
    Later, Executive Councillor I&FC/PHE, Kacho Mohammad Feroz attended the event as a chief guest on the closing ceremony of celebration of the UT Foundation Day and public service delivery camp.
    The EC was accompanied by ADC Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani. He inspected the stalls installed by various government departments. Various departments present on the occasion briefed EC about progress of their departments in implementation of different schemes.
    During the program, colorful cultural performances were presented by students from different schools that enthralled the audience. On the occasion, the consolation prizes were distributed among the performers by the chief guest.
