    6th UT Foundation Day, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrated in Kargil.
    Kargil, October 31, 2024: District Administration Kargil today organized numerous events to commemorate the 6th Ladakh UT Foundation Day and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and these events witnessed enthusiastic participation of people.
    Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon along with Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse attended the event of celebration of 6th UT Foundation Day at Auditorium Hall, Kargil.
    Director Horticulture, Ladakh, Tsewang Phuntsog; ADC Kargil Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani; ASP Kargil Mujeeb Ur Rehman; CPO; ACR besides District Officers, HoDs, government employees, cultural artists, students and others were present on the occasion.
    Throughout the program, students and artists delivered captivating and colorful cultural performances that enthralled the audience.
    On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Shrikant Balasaheb Suse on behalf of district administration congratulated all the district officers, HODs, employees, students and others on the occasion of UT Foundation Day and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.
    DC Kargil paid rich tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary by remembering his extraordinary works for keeping India united and his role in the freedom struggle. The DC said after the formation of UT Ladakh, Kargil has seen remarkable changes in developmental activities.
    DC Shrikant said significant development has been achieved in the tourism industry, with Suru Valley recently ranked among the world’s top 25 destinations by National Geographic. He added that the district administration is actively working to establish Kargil on the global tourism map.
    While reflecting the Kargil’s growing horticultural crops potential, DC Kargil said the Karkitchoo Apples have been exported to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which will further encourage the farmers in the region.
    Celebrating the achievements achieved through JJM scheme, DC Kargil said the scheme is in its saturation mode, as more than 90 percent saturation has been achieved. He also said remarkable achievements have been achieved in education and health.
    DC Shrikant said the district administration is working with dedication to meet the expectations of people and to take Kargil on the developmental path to achieve new heights.
    On the occasion, ADC Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani presented vote of thanks.
    The CEC along with DC Kargil also inspected the stalls installed by various government departments outside the Auditorium Hall to exhibit their respective progress. Various departments present on the occasion briefed the CEC and DC about progress of their respective departments in implementation of different schemes and other initiatives.
    Meanwhile, in connection with the National Unity Day 2024, the Chairman/CEC LAHDC, Kargil Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon along with Deputy Commissioner and other district officers flagged off ‘Run for Unity’ from Tourist Facilitation Centre (TFC) Kargil.
    The run for unity after passing through the main market Kargil culminated at Hussaini Park. District officers, employees besides students from various schools of district Kargil participated in the run.
    At the Hussaini Park, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge was administered to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. On the occasion, rich tributes were paid to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
    Pertinently, the National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed every year on October 31, on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the ‘Iron Man of India’. The National Unity Day 2024 commemorates Sardar Patel’s 149th birth anniversary.
