DEO Kargil convenes meeting to discuss programme of special summary revision of photo electoral rolls with regard to 01-01-2022 as the qualifying date

KARGIL SEPTEMBER 25, 2021: District Election Officer (DEO)/Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve took a review meeting with Sub Divisional Magistrates, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), Naib Tehsildars, Nodal Officers, District Informatics Officers, Election Naib Tehsildar, In Charge IT Cell and representative of political parties here on Friday.
The meeting was convened to discuss the programme of special summary revision of photo electoral rolls with regard to 01-01-2022 as the qualifying date including the pre-revision/revision activities.
While discussing various measures to ensure greater participation for a stronger democracy, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to take all requisite measures for rationalization of polling stations like change of location, change of nomenclature, provision of facilities and separate polling station if required.
The District Election Officer also directed the concerned officers to start the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation Program (SVEEP) activities in order to start awareness and promoting voter literacy among the voters to get enrolled in the voter list. He also directed the concerned officers to ensure proper printing and supply of draft e-rolls and forms.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Kargil also directed the BLOs ,Naib Tehsildars and AEROs to work in close coordination besides to ensure proper supervision for enrolment of new voters in the upcoming voter list.
