    KARGIL, JANUARY 27, 2022: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan today chaired a meeting of district officers at Council Secretariat to review the COVID-19 situation in Kargil district.
    Executive Councilor for Health Mohsin Ali, Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil, Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Chief Education Officer (CEO), Nazir Ahmed Wani., Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kargil (DHK), Dr Liyaqat Ali Khan, Nodal Officer COVID-19 Hospital, Dr Abass Ali, besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.
    Khan took a detailed review from the concerned officers about the present status of COVID-19 situation in the district.
    Detailed discussion and deliberations were held to restrict further upsurge of COVID-19 cases in the district.
    Speaking during the meeting, DC/CEO Santosh Sukhadeve directed CMO Kargil and other health officers to speed up contact tracing, surveillance and focus on all public places.
    He directed CMO and District Surveillance Officer to propose setting up of localized containment zones as per guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
    CEC Khan urged the general public to follow the COVID-19 SOPs properly which includes wearing of face masks, maintaining social distance and avoiding unnecessary travel.
    CEC also said that fines shall be imposed upon people who don’t follow COVID-19 SOPs in addition to action against the defaulters. He added that the local magistrate shall be on duty with the surveillance team.
    Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure unvaccinated students shall not be allowed to attend classes in winter tuition/coaching centres from 31 January 2022.
    CEC Khan said the situation would be reviewed after a week and required actions shall be taken accordingly.
