    CEC Feroz Khan reviews arrangements ahead of Incredible India Kargil International Marathon, Kargil Ladakh Tourism Festival

    KARGIL, JULY 06, 2022: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting of officers to review the arrangements for Incredible India Kargil International Marathon and Kargil Ladakh Tourism Festival here at Conference Hall Baroo

Secretary Cultural Academy Kargil, Assistant Director, Tourism Kargil, Assistant Director, Handicraft Kargil, Assistant Director Information Kargil, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kargil, District Youth Service & Sports Officer, Executive Engineer, R&B Kargil, Executive Engineer, PHE Kargil, Executive Engineer, (PDD) Distribution Division Kargil, Executive Engineer, Mechanical Division Kargil, Executive Officer MC Kargil, Superintendent Handloom, Kargil, President, AKTTA, Mohd Hamza, (President, SPACE Tour & Traveller), Mohd Amin Polo (Himalayan Sports) besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
    The CEC reviewed and discussed all the arrangements pertaining to
    both Incredible India Kargil International Marathon and Kargil Ladakh Tourism Festival.
    Pertaining to Incredible India Kargil International Marathon which is scheduled on July 24, the meeting discussed facilitation to runners, transportation for runners from Leh/Srinagar to Kargil and accommodation for runners.
    The meeting also discussed transportation facilities for runners for sightseeing, installation of stage and arrangements for providing furniture and furnishing, public announcement, drinking water facility and snacks, medical facilities, permission of doe stoppage of traffic movements and security arrangements.
    Regarding Kargil Ladakh Tourism Festival scheduled on July 23 and 24, the meeting discussed all the arrangements including reservation of venue Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium, installation of exhibition and food stalls, uninterrupted power supply at the venue, veterinary care for Polo Horses, sanitation at venue, drinking water facility, medical facilities, security arrangements, boarding and lodging of VIPs, media persons, artists, players and arrangements for furniture.
    During the meeting, it was informed that registration for local runners for the marathon will be available in offline mode and only physically fit candidates will be allowed to apply.
    CEC Khan directed the concerned officers to make arrangements for stay of runners coming from outside and make arrangements for their transportation.
    He directed the health department to ensure first aid is available for the runners across all spots and also ensure ambulances are available in case of any emergency.
    CEC Khan directed Tourism Department to ensure wide publicity of both the events and also make sure that banners and posters displayed at important locations.
    The CEC said that private players in Kargil have played a pivotal role in promotion of Kargil Tourism adding that efforts should be made for promotion of tourism in the district.
    During the meeting, the concerned officers were directed to prepare banners, posters to be displayed at Srinagar Airport and other vital locations in order to attract more and more tourists.
    CEC Khan said promoting tourism is a coordinated effort of all the departments and LAHDC Kargil is committed to promote tourism to create employment opportunities for local youth.

    During the meeting, a committee of officers was also constituted which would be headed by ACD Kargil and will look after for all the arrangements of both the events.
    Regional Director Tourism, North-East Region Govt. of India informed the meeting that they have made all the arrangements and have done 150 registrations so far. He added that the participants in this years’ marathon include celebrity runners.
    AD Tourism informed the meeting that the marathon will be held in three different categories including 21 kilometers, 10 kilometers and 5 kilometers and will start and end at Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium.
