Painting, essay competition on single-use plastic held at Kargil

KARGIL, JULY 09, 2022: A painting and essay writing competition over the demerits of single-use plastic was held today here at Ryal Khatoon Park Kargil.
The event was organized by Forest Department Kargil. Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Kargil, Raza Ali Abidi said the program was aimed to motivate people and create awareness about the demerits of single-use plastic.
On the occasion, Incharge Principal Govt. Degree College Kargil/Member Ladakh Wildlife Board Dr Javed Naqi was present as chief guest while Divisional Forest Officer Raza Ali Abidi, Range Officer, Forest Department Kargil Niyaz Ali, mentor of students Sajjad Hussain and 26 students from different schools and colleges took part in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Javed Naqi said advised students to minimize the use of single-use plastic while creating similar awareness among others in the society.
Sajjad Hussain requested the DFO to arrange an exposure tour for students to aware them of the flora and fauna of Ladakh to which the latter agreed to conduct after Eid ul-Azha.
In the end, the chief guest distributed certificates of appreciation and mementos to the best-performing students.
