    CEC Feroz Khan felicitates players for shining in Junior National Championship at Bareilly, UP

    Kargil, March 11, 2023: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today felicitated players who won medals in the recently held Junior National Championship at Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The CEC felicitated the players with traditional khataks during the trials conducted by Ladakh Taekwondo Association for Cadet, Sub Junior and Senior Nationals.

    On the occasion, the CEC said youth who want to pursue sports as a profession have got an easy opportunity to prove themselves after Ladakh became a separate Union Territory.

    The trial was conducted at Sports Authority of India Centre Kargil in which players from both Kargil and Leh District participated.

    The Trai was conducted under the overall supervision of Ghulam Mustafa In charge SAI as Observer from SAI Centre Kargil, Safdar Ali Observer from Kargil District Olympic Association, and NIS Coach Mohd Ali and Mohd Ali Baghi as Observer from Ladakh Taekwondo Association.

    The CEC while appreciating the achievements of Ladakh Taekwondo Association said it is one of the successful sports organizations of Ladakh. He said the spree of producing world-class players is continuing and LAHDC Kargil will always support the association for that.

    Khan said that various developmental works have been achieved in the last four years. He said LAHDC Kargil has kept special provision for sports equipment under its Subsidy Scheme.

    Anayat Ali, General Secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association said the association is the first organized sports body working in sports field from the past 25 years. He said earlier it was working under the name of Kargil Taekwondo Association which is still active in the District after Ladakh became the UT Ladakh Taekwondo Association was formed.

    He thanked the Ministry of Sports, Government of India for providing SAI Centre at Kargil which is helping them to produce international-level players and requested the Ministry to increase the capacity of taekwondo inmates in the centre.

    Notably, a total of 60 players participated in the Trials and 35 players selected for Cadet, Sub Junior and Senior Nationals. Later CEC felicitated players who won medals in the recently concluded Junior National Championship at Bareilly UP with traditional khataks.
