    District Administration Kargil bids farewell to Iftikar Ahmed.

    Kargil, June 24, 2023: The District Administration Kargil organized a grand farewell party on Friday in honor of Iftikar Ahmed (JKAS), General Manager DIC, Deputy Director Employment, Superintendent Handloom, and DDO Libraries, who is being repatriated back to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir after completing a successful tenure of 4 years in Kargil, Union Territory of Ladakh.
    The farewell party was held at TFC, Kargil and witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries including the Executive Councilor, RD Tourism and Zanskar Affairs, LAHDC, Kargil Er. Phunchok Tashi, Executive Councilor Health, Mohsin Ali, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, SSP Kargil, Anayat Ali, ADC Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani, Joint Director Information, Ladakh, Additional Secretary Higher Education, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho, ACR Kargil, A.G Zargar, SE, PHE, I&FC, Maqbool Hussain, Superintendent Engineer, R&B, Mutalib Hussain and other District Officers of various departments attended the farewell party and several other prominent District Officers from various departments.
    During the event, the Deputy Commissioner commended the tireless and dedicated services rendered by Iftikar Ahmed throughout his career, particularly during his tenure in Kargil. He extended his best wishes to Iftikar Ahmed for his transfer and future endeavors in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
    Various District Officers also expressed their views and highlighted the exceptional achievements of Iftikar Ahmed during his service in Kargil. Notably, he played a pivotal role in securing the PM Award as the top performer in the PMEGP.
    Additionally, he successfully organized various awareness and exposure programs in collaboration with esteemed institutions such as DICCI, IHBT, DGFT, NIFTEM, NIFT, KVIC, PAN IIT, Invest India, and others.
    Under his guidance, the famous Kargil Apricot was exported to Dubai and other overseas countries, gaining international recognition and bringing well-deserved attention to local apricot producers.
    Furthermore, Iftikar Ahmed’s dedication and vision led to significant infrastructure development and construction projects, including the construction of Industrial Estates in Kurbathang, Zanskar, and Drass, as well as the sanctioning of the District Library infrastructure with a cost of Rs 9 crores.
    His exceptional role as Deputy Director of Employment, Kargil was highly appreciated by all sections of society. The District Employment Department conducted special recruitment drives under the banner of LAHDC-KSSRB, Kargil, ensuring transparency throughout the entire process. The introduction of online CCTV-equipped exam centers, online portal development, OMR sheet systems, and the establishment of a specialized examination center in Zanskar for aspirants from the region were notable achievements.
    Iftikar Ahmed, General Manager DIC, Deputy Director Employment, Kargil expressed his gratitude to the District Administration Kargil for organizing a memorable farewell party in his honor.
    He extended heartfelt thanks to DC Kargil and all other District Officers for their unwavering support and cooperation during his tenure. He also shared his valuable experiences from his government service in Kargil.
    As a special highlight of the evening, a live music was also organized to conclude the farewell party on a memorable note. The Ladakh Cultural Academy, Kargil organized a special evening live music show at Auditorium Hall, Kargil.
    The event showcased the extraordinary talents of renowned singers, including Waqar Khan and Kabul Bukhari, as well as local artists like Famida Fatima, Gulzar Hussain, and Zahara Banoo. The musical team members including Omar Nazir, Yasir Madina, Mohd Abass Skit, and Munnawar Hussain Pang, joined them in creating a mesmerizing musical experience that stole the evening show.
    As a token of love and appreciation, all the district officers of Kargil came together in a traditional manner to present Traditional Khataks and heartfelt gifts to the esteemed relieving officer, who is now being repatriated to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This gesture served as a symbol of gratitude for the exemplary service and dedication demonstrated by Iftikar Ahmed throughout his tenure in Kargil.
    The farewell party and musical extravaganza organized by the District Administration Kargil and Ladakh Cultural Academy Kargil not only celebrated Iftikar Ahmed’s achievements but also showcased the unity and camaraderie among the district officers and the wider community in bidding farewell to a respected and esteemed member of the team.
