Special Cell for Women holds two outreach-cum-awareness programs at Zanskar.

Kargil, July 08, 2023:
Special Cell for Women in collaboration with Women Police Station Kargil (Ladakh Police) on Friday conducted two outreach-cum-awareness programs at Zanskar.
The first program was held at Higher Secondary School Padum where SHO Women Police Station, Diskit Lado, Principal GHSS Padum, Rinche, teachers and Social Worker Special Cell, Hassina Batool were present in the program.
The SHO Women’s Police Station informed the participants about the challenges faced by girls and held an interactive session with students of Higher Secondary School on gender equality.
The Social Worker gave awareness about the service of the Special Cell for Women and made them aware of gender sensitization. A short film was also screened on safe and unsafe touch. Besides that the participants were also informed about the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
Similarly, the second session was held at Community Hall Zangla where the participants were informed about various social welfare schemes. They were also informed about the challenges faced by women in society.
