Advisor Hon’ble Lt. Governor Dr Pawan Kotwal Convened the Review Meeting on Health & Medical Education.

Leh, June 20: The Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Health & Medical Education (H&ME) UT Ladakh, Dr Pawan Kotwal convened a review meeting on the Heath & Medical Education at Video Conference Hall, Civil Secretariat, Leh.
The Advisor Dr Pawan Kotwal reviewed the status of 108 ambulance services; oxygen infrastructure; utilization of hospital development funds; functioning of health & wellness/e-sanjveeni scheme/e-hospital; status of construction work of health department under Special Development Project (SDP); status of Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Zanskar Community Health Centre (CHC); status of National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certificates; status of Diplomate of National Board (DNB) courses in district hospitals of Leh and Kargil and the status of heating system in the hospitals.
During the review meeting, Advisor to Hon’ble LG/Secretary (H&ME, Ladakh) urged upon all the concerned departments to ensure completion of works on time and he appreciated the concerned departments for active cooperation and coordination for the implementation of schemes under National Health Mission (NHM). He cherished the initiation of the Tele-Manas tool free in Ladakh. Tele-Manas is a comprehensive mental health care service.
Dr Pawan Kiotwal further stressed-on on the identification of lands for health & wellness centres in the remote villages of UT Ladakh. He also highlighted for the installation of Health Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at public places like airport, bus stands, etc. Health ATM is a touch-screen kiosk hardware built for managing health-related information.
Director (H&ME); Chief Engineer of various departments; Chief Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents (Leh & Kargil) provided detailed updates on the implementation of various medical schemes to underway to provide the best possible amenities & facilities; safety measures & maintenance of the hospitals; inspecting and assessing the conditions of medical equipment and supplies; and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Director (Health & Medical Education, Ladakh); Chief Engineer (PWD, Ladakh); Chief Engineer (Mechanical, Ladakh); Chief Medical Officer (Leh); and Medical Superintendent (Leh) attended the meeting, while Chief Medical Officer (Kargil); Medical Superintendent (Kargil); Chief Engineer (CPWD, Ladakh) and DDF Consultants joined the meeting virtually.
