DC Kargil chairs district-level NCORD committee meeting.

Kargil, July 22, 2023: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Shrikant Suse, today chaired the district-level committee meeting under Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) in his Office Chamber to discuss various measures to curb drug abuse and narcotic trade in the district.
Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, District Forest Officer Kargil, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Deputy SP Kargil, Head Constable of Kargil Police and District Drugs Controller Officer attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed various issues related to the incidence of drug addiction, areas of concern, hot spots of drug use in the district. The meeting also discussed action taken on directions issued in the previous NCORD meeting.
DC Kargil stressed the need of comprehensive awareness programs against drug abuse instructed and all stakeholders to conduct drives in schools, colleges etc. in a holistic approach to target the young population and also by involving parents as well.
He stressed need of sustained efforts from law enforcement agencies to check on use of substance and asked stakeholders to work in coordinated manner.
