Tourism Dept. organizes awareness-cum-cleanliness drive under MOT’s #MissionTravelforLife, #MeriMaatiMeriDesh campaign at Drass.

Kargil, August 13, 2023:
Tourism Department Kargil in collaboration with Roots Ladakh, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department (RD&PRD), Wild Life Department, Education Department and local women Self Help Group on Saturday organized an awareness-cum-cleanliness drive under the MOT’s mission ‘Travel for Life’ and #MeriMaatiMeriDesh campaign in Himalayan Brown Bear Valley, Holiyal Village Drass.
The awareness program regarding the importance of wildlife, forests and promotion of eco-friendly tourism started at Middle School Holiyal by participating school students, teachers, villagers, tourism stakeholders and officials of different Govt. Departments.
After the awareness program, an extensive cleanliness drive was started in the village and huge quantity of garbage was collected and dispatched through RD&PRD garbage pickup Van for proper disposal.
To encourage villagers to hoist National Flag at their houses/buildings from 13 to 15 August was also the part of Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign organized by the Department. Similar programs shall also be conducted at other locations till 15 August.
