Delegations from Women Club Meri Pehchan, Top FM, NHPC call on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).
Leh, Aug 30, 2023: A delegation from Women Club Meri Pehchan led by its Founder, Smt Sandhya Gupta, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at Raj Niwas.
Smt Sandhya apprised the HLG of the functioning of the organisation which is working to assist socially neglected, economically weaker sections and persons with disabilities. She informed about the initiative taken by them to present the Maharaja Hari Singh Dogra Samman Award to people from all walks of life for their contributions to the betterment of society. She informed the HLG about their plan to organise the event in Leh but had to cancel at the last moment due to some reasons.
Smt Sandhya informed that the award presentation event will now be held in Jammu in November 2023 and requested the HLG to be a part of the award presentation ceremony.
The HLG commended the organisation for their work and wished the best to the organisation for their future endeavours.
A delegation from Top FM led by Shri Neeraj Rakwal called on the HLG at Raj Niwas.
Shri Rakwal informed the HLG that Top FM Station 91.1 is the first private FM radio channel to be launched in Ladakh in 2021. He also informed that their objective is to target the rural audience where FM radio is not available. He further informed about the initiatives taken by Top FM to raise awareness on the rich Ladakhi culture and various central government schemes meant for the benefit of the people.
Sri Rakwal also informed about the messages being disseminated on Top FM to raise awareness on cybercrime-related incidents in Ladakh. He requested for advertisements from the Administration and other government-related schemes for their radio channel.
The HLG asked Shri Rakwal to meet the Commissioner Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department, Smt Padma Angmo in this regard.
Senior Manager, NHPC Leh, Shri Rupesh Kumar called on the HLG at Raj Niwas.
Shri Rupesh informed HLG that he has been working in Leh since September 2022 and was earlier posted in Faridabad. He also informed that his father is a cancer patient and needs medical attention from time to time. He requested the HLG for his transfer to Faridabad so that he could provide timely medical checkups for his father.
The HLG spoke to the Director, HR, NHPC and asked him to look into the matter.
