Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) attends closing-cum-award ceremony of Ladakh Marathon 2023.

Leh, Sept 10, 2023: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), attended the closing-cum-award ceremony of Ladakh Marathon at NDS Stadium, Leh.
Commending the organiser of the Ladakh Marathon, the HLG said that such events are very beneficial for the Ladakhi youth. He advised the local youth and citizens of Ladakh to actively participate in such events and emphasised their roles in building a healthy society for the overall development of Ladakh and also the country. He lauded the organisers of the event for their efforts and suggested government officials of various departments to organise similar events in the future.
The HLG stated that the UT Administration is committed to supporting the organisers of such events. He assured that the Administration would assist in organising the marathon on a bigger scale next year.
The HLG felicitated and presented awards to the runners who participated in the 21 KM half-marathon category.
In the Open (Women) 21 KM Half Marathon category, Stanzin Chondol, Stanzin Dolkar and Tashi Ladol finished first, second and third, respectively. Similarly, in the Open (Men) 21 KM Half Marathon category, Hans Raj, Anurag Konkar and Tsewang Nangdan claimed the first, second and third positions, respectively.
Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Shri Tashi Gyalson; Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Shri Jamyang Tsering Namgyal; Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Shri Tsering Angchuk; Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Principal Secretary, Shri Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS; Secretary, Sports, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shri Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS, other concerned officers and a large number of participants were present during the closing ceremony of the event.
