EC Tashi inspects progress of Mini Hydel Project at Raru Zanskar.

Kargil, Oct 30, 2023: Executive Councilor, RD&PRD, LAHDC, Kargil, Er Punchok Tashi today inspected the ongoing progress and development of 2×1000 KW Mini Hydel Project at Raru Zanskar being executed by Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA).
The project has been sanctioned under Ladakh Renewable Energy Initiative (LREI), GoI in year 2010-11 but delayed due to the non-availability of timely funds.
EC Tashi was briefed by Engineer of KREDA that almost 90 percent off the work stands executed at site and fixing of electro mechanical part is under progress.
It was also assured that one unit (1 MW) machine shall be put to run as a trail in the next 2 weeks and they will endeavour to complete the project by end of November if weather permits.
He EC Tashi directed the team of technical staff and engineers to speed up the work so that the same could start producing power supply for Zanskar. Tsering Norbu, I/C SDM Zanskar and Engineer of KREDA Kargil were present during the inspection.
