    EC Zakir Hussain visits Kargil Boys Hostel Bemina, Kargil Girls Hostel Nowshara.

    Kargil, Nov 01, 2023: Executive Councillor, School & Higher Education, LAHDC, Kargil, Zakir Hussain along with Executive Engineer, R&B & Assistant Executive Engineer, R&B Kargil visited Kargil Boys Hostel Bemina, Srinagar & Kargil Girls Hostel Nowshara Srinagar on his 2nd visit after assuming the charge of EC in LAHDC, Kargil.
    During the visit the EC on spot provided kitchen utensils for Boys Hostel Bemina, which was the major issue faced by the students. Besides directions have issued to the R&B Department, Kargil with regard to provide the below mentioned items for both the Hostels immediately and at once and make sure that directions may be implemented within weeks’ time and before his next visit to the hostels in near future.
    The directions included providing of Water Purifier, Washing Machine, Refrigerator, Study table with chairs, complete furnishing of Libraries with installation of Hot & Cold AC’s, First Aid Boxes, change of beddings, shelves, shoe racks etc.
    It also included minor repairing/renovation of bath rooms with fixing mirrors and other items require, furnishing of dining hall of Girls Hostel with fixing of windowpanes, providing lighting backup system of 5 KW for Boys Hostel, renovation of the existing lighting backup system of Girls Hostel by taking the issue with KREDA, Kargil.
    The Executive Councillor directed the concerned Wardens to frame comprehensive rule and regulation for students for their daily routines after consulting the students’ body and create an educational atmosphere in the hostel. If any student fails to obey the rule and regulations strict action may be taken against the defaulters.
    The EC thanked and appreciated the cooperation given by the Chairman/ CEC, LAHDC Kargil & worthy Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil to redress and resolve the issues of these hostels in the behest interest of student’s community residing in these hostels.
    The Warden and students thanked the Executive Councillor for showing his keen interest to redress their demands in a very short spell of time.
