Deputy Commissioner Kargil convenes meeting regarding PM VISHWAKARMA Scheme.

Kargil November 10, 2023: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse today convened a meeting in his office chambers to discuss the implementation progress of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
JD MSME DFO JK/Ladakh gave a presentation covering various aspects of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. This included an in-depth overview of the scheme’s coverage, benefits, application process, eligibility criteria, and its rollout strategy.
Additionally, the roles of Panchayati Raj (Gram Pradhan), Urban Local Bodies (ULB), and the participation of banks in the scheme were discussed. Also, a short video highlighting the process of MSME registration was presented to the attendees.
Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of scheme for its potential to support village artisans, thereby promoting their trades and contributing to economic growth.
During the meeting, several directions were issued by the Deputy Commissioner to expedite the scheme’s implementation. GM DIC was directed to hold awareness programmes regarding this scheme at Zanskar and Kargil for beneficiaries.
Furthermore, the DPO was instructed to promptly create login IDs and passwords of the competent authorities for verification of beneficiaries.
To ensure that the benefits of the scheme reached even the far-flung areas, Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for maximum coverage and promptly forming Panchayat Level Committees to oversee the program at the grassroots level and active participation of all stakeholders.
In conclusion, Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of saturating the scheme, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to supporting local artisans and fostering economic growth through the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
