Secretary of PDD, UT Ladakh Ravinder Kumar Reviews Pending Electricity Dues in UT Ladakh Government Departments.

Leh, Nov. 21: The Administrative Secretary of Secretary Power and NRE, UT Ladakh Ravinder Kumar chaired a review meeting on the pending electricity dues of various Government Departments of UT Ladakh, at the Deputy Commissioner Office Conference Hall, Leh.
At the outset, Chief Engineer Distribution, Ladakh Power Development Department (LPDD) Tsewang Paljor gave a brief presentation on the agenda and shared the details of the department-wise pending electricity dues.
Secretary Ravinder Kumar informed all the Directors, HODs, and officers attending the meeting to clear their pending electricity dues. It was informed that LPDD is implementing the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) funded by the Ministry of Power and as per the Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of the Scheme, LPDD must clear 100% of dues from Government Departments, Attached Offices, Local Bodies, Autonomous Bodies, Boards and Corporation. The release of funds under the RDSS scheme has been linked with the above criteria.
He also directed all the officers to frame estimated energy consumption for their respective offices and accordingly, propose sufficient funds for electricity bills in the annual budget, so that no liabilities/areas are created.
Ravinder Kumar further informed all the officers that LPDD is implementing the Rooftop Solar (RTS) scheme and MNRE has directed Ladakh for saturation of RTS installation in all the Government Buildings. All the departments were directed to provide confirmation for the installation of RTS along with the Rooftop Area/compound area available for installation of RTS within seven days, at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Leh and Kargil, DIG Ladakh Police, Director Tourism, Chief Engineer PWD, Chief Engineer PHE, Chief Education Officer Leh, Director Horticulture Department, Chief Controller of Finance (CCF) LAHDC Leh, ARTO Leh, Executive Officer MC Leh, Registrar University of Ladakh, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Leh, Associate Director SKUSAT, Executive Engineer PDD, Executive Engineer Mechanical Division, officers from Health, Agriculture and other departments.
