Delegation from Ex-Servicemen Union Zanskar, Rehbar-e-Khel teachers calls on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).
Leh, Nov 24, 2023: A delegation comprising members of Ex-Servicemen Union Zanskar led by its President, Shri Tsering Dorjey called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the LG Secretariat. Secretary to the HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS, was present in the meeting.
Shri Dorjey apprised the HLG of the land sanctioned by the government of the erstwhile state of J&K for the ex-servicemen from Zanskar at Kojothang. He requested the HLG to remove encroachment from the land allocated for them and process the transfer of land to the beneficiaries such as ex-servicemen, war heroes and veer naris at the earliest.
Shri Dorjey also requested the HLG for financial assistance for the construction of the War Hero Memorial-cum-Sainik Sarai at Marthang in Padum.
The HLG asked Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS, to ask for an explanation from DC Kargil regarding steps taken to remove illegal encroachment from the land. He also asked Shri Ravinder to check possible assistance that could be provided for the construction of the War Hero Memorial-cum-Sainik Sarai.
A delegation from Rehbar-e-Khel Teachers Forum led by its President Shri Murtaza Ali called on the HLG at LG Secretariat.
Member of Parliament, Ladakh, Shri Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS and Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, Ladakh Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS were present in the meeting.
Shri Ali apprised the HLG that 102 Rehbar-eKhel Teachers were recruited in the Department of Youth Services and Sports in 2019. He informed that ReK teachers get Rs 3000 in a month for the first two years and Rs 4000 for the next four years. He requested the HLG to regularize their services and enhance their salaries. The HLG instructed Secretary, Youth Services and Sports to study the matter for enhancement of their salaries.
