Kargil, Dec 01, 2023: In an enlightening educational endeavor, students from classes VI to XII of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Kargil embarked on a field trip to Zojila Tunnel on Nov 30, 2023 & Dec 01, 2023. It was aimed to provide students first hand insights into the significant infrastructural developments in the region.
The students, accompanied by their teachers, witnessed the colossal project spearheaded by the collaborative efforts of Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and the Road and Transport Minister, Shri Nitin Gadkari. The Zojila Tunnel, a crucial part of the strategic infrastructure in the region, has been a testament to the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and national security.
Praising the visionary leadership of the honourable Prime Minister and the relentless efforts of the honourable Transport Minister, the students were in awe of the scale and impact of the project. The Zojila Tunnel, once completed, will serve as a lifeline connecting Ladakh with the rest of the country, especially during harsh winter months when the Zojila Pass remains snowbound.
From a national perspective, the tunnel holds immense importance as it will facilitate year-round connectivity, ensuring the unhindered movement of goods and personnel. This is crucial not only for the strategic interests of the nation but also for the socio-economic development of the region.
Locally, the completion of the tunnel will bring about a transformative change in the lives of the people of Kargil and surrounding areas. It will open up new opportunities for trade, tourism, and overall development, contributing to the prosperity of the region. Students were particularly enthusiastic about the positive impact the tunnel is expected to have on their communities.
As the students returned from the field trip, they expressed gratitude for the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and lauded the efforts of all those involved in the Zojila Tunnel project. The excursion not only broadened their understanding of national projects but also instilled a sense of pride in witnessing first hand the progress being made towards a more connected and resilient India.
