    Syed Shamsuddin & Nasir Zaidi call on Hon’ble Lt Governor, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd)

    Leh, Feb 16, 2023: Shri Syed Shamsuddin, working as teacher, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Commissioner/Secretary, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan, IRS; Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS; Secretary, PWD, Ladakh, Shri Micheal D Souza, IAS and Deputy Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh were present in the meeting.
    Shri Shamsuddin apprised the HLG of the non-inclusion of Bio-chemistry subject in the CBSE curriculum and requested the HLG to make candidates with Bio-Chemistry subject eligible for the post for lecturer in Chemistry and Bio-Technology. He also informed the HLG about the introduction of Bio-chemistry subject in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and Kendra Vidyalaya across the country.
    Deputy Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh informed the HLG that the Bio-chemistry subject is not included in the CBSE curriculum and the affiliation of all the government schools of Ladakh with CBSE.WhatsApp Image 2024-02-16 at 2.14.56 PM
    The HLG directed Deputy Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh, to form a committee under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh to examine the matter keeping in mind the future of students along with their employability as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 norms.
    Shri Nasir Zaidi, Media Secretary, BJP Unit Kargil, called on the HLG at LG Secretariat. Commissioner/Secretary, Labour, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan, IRS; Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS and Secretary, PWD, Ladakh, Shri Micheal D Souza, IAS, were present in the meeting.
    Shri Zaidi requested the HLG to establishment the office of the Deputy Labour Commissioner at Kargil and the renewal of labour agencies of UT Ladakh.
    Commissioner Secretary, Labour, Ladakh, informed the HLG that there is only one Deputy Labour Commissioner in UT Ladakh while Assistant Labour Commissioners have been deputed to look into labour issues in both Leh and Kargil districts. He also informed that the renewal of labour agencies is withheld by the Ministry of Labour, Government of India.
    The HLG informed Shri Zaidi that additional powers would be delegated to Assistant Labour Commissioners to settle labour issues. He also stated that UT Administration would follow the Government of India policy regarding the renewal of trade license of labour agencies.
