DIPR Kargil organizes media workshop cum experience-sharing session for staff, private media persons
Kargil, Feb 21, 2024: As part of a series of events, the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Kargil today organized media workshop-cum-experience sharing session for its staff and private media persons of Kargil.
Joint Director, Information, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho was the chief guest and Assistant Director Information, Kargil, Padma Angmo was also present.
Photo Officer, Haji Ahmed Khan, Assistant Exhibition-Cum-Cultural Officer, Mohammad Musa, Senior Assistant DIPR Kargil, Mohd Yousuf, Senior Assistant Joint Director Office, Mohd Ali, Assistant Information Officer, DIPR, Anwar Ali Tsarpa, Editor DIPR Kargil, Mansoor Peer, Reporters, Photographers, staff of DIPR Kargil, President Press Club, Kargil, Mohammad Hussain Khalo, Executive Editor, Voice of Ladakh, Syed Hashim Razvi, Correspondent Gulistan News, Mohd Ishaq, Correspondent AIR, Anayat Ali, Correspondent ETV, Ghulam Nabi Ziya, local journalists working with print, electronic and online media outlets besides others also attended the workshop.
In his keynote address, the Joint Director, Information, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho highlighted the role of media and the endeavours of DIPR Kargil in information dissemination.
He said under the supervision of Commissioner/Secretary, DIPR Ladakh, Padma Angmo, the department has achieved remarkable progress and achieved new heights.
The Joint Director highlighted the many achievements of DIPR Kargil including the bi-monthly magazine Kargil Nama under the editorial supervision of its Editor, Mansoor Peer.
He also expressed the department’s eagerness to receive contributions from media persons, public and students for the bi-lingual Kargil Nama magazine.
Kacho also said that the experience-sharing session will offer local journalists valuable exposure and insights into their field and hoped that the workshop would help enhance and upgrade skills of media team of DIPR Kargil and local journalists. He said such workshops will be organized in the future for the DIPR staff and media persons of Kargil.
President, Ladakh Press Club, Kargil, Mohammad Hussain Khalo, thanked Commissioner/Secretary, DIPR, Ladakh, Padma Angmo, Joint Director, Information, Ladakh and AD, Information, Kargil for providing a platform for the media persons.
He appreciated the role of private media in the dissemination of information and hoped that DIPR-Kargil will organize such events in future as well to improve the skills of journalists. Khalo shared insights from his experience, discussing challenges and difficulties with journalists.
Assistant Information Officer, DIPR, Kargil, Anwar Ali Tsarpa also shared his experiences with the participants. He advised journalists to engage with traditional media platforms for personal growth and prioritize their stories effectively to enhance their professional impact.
The other journalists who shared their experiences included executive editor, Voice of Ladakh, Syed Hashim Razvi, Reporter DIPR, Kargil, Murtaza Fazili, Correspondent Gulistan News, Mohd Ishaq, Correspondent AIR, Anayat Ali and Correspondent ETV, Ghulam Nabi Ziya.
In the end, the Assistant Director Information Kargil presented vote of thanks to the chief guest, Joint Director, Information, Ladakh, participants, staff of DIPR Kargil, local media persons for attending the productive workshop and making it successful.
The AD Information emphasized the importance of adhering to media ethics, urging journalists to maintain integrity and uphold ethical standards in their work.
Earlier, AD, Information, Kargil, Padma Angmo presented the welcome speech and briefed the participants about the importance of the workshop.
She said the workshop was aimed to gain exposure from the experience-sharing session and help journalists to compete with the different challenges in their professional life.
Later, the staff of DIPR Kargil, local journalists thanked the Commissioner/Secretary, DIPR, Ladakh, Padma Angmo, Joint Director, Information, Ladakh and AD, Information, Kargil for organizing the workshop and hoped that such workshops/experience sharing session should be organized in future as well.
