Executive Councilor-led delegation, Former EC Kargil call on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).
Leh, March 01, 2024: A delegation from Trespone, Kargil led by Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Syed Mujtaba Musavi called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat.
Secretary to HLG, Shri Ravinder Kumar, IAS; Director, Health Services, Ladakh, Dr Motup Dorjey; Directo, School Education, Ladakh, Shri Tsering Paldan, JKAS were present in the meeting.
Syed Mujtaba apprised the HLG that in 2014, the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir Government had sanctioned tehsil status to the TSG block. He informed that despite the sanctioning of tehsil status, the Government of Jammu & Kashmir had not initiated the functioning of the tehsil and not granted the necessary posts for its functioning. He requested the HLG to ensure the proper functioning of the tehsil office. Syed Mujtaba also requested the HLG to establish Zonal Education Office and Block Medical Office for the TSG block. He also requested the HLG to grant power of Tehsildar to the Naib Tehsildar in order to facilitate the people’s works.
The HLG directed Director, School Education, Ladakh and Director, Health Services, Ladakh to examine the matter and submit a proposal to the concerned Ministry for creation of new units. The HLG instructed Advisor to HLG to review the delegation of power of the Tehsildar to the Naib Tehsildar.
Former Executive Councilor, Shri Skalzang Wangyal Gara called on the HLG at LG Secretariat.

Shri Gara raised several demands viz. creation of separate Public Works Department division for Zanskar subdivision, upgradation of Government High School Zangla to Government Higher Secondary School, upgradation of Government Middle School Sani to Government High School and the creation of posts for medical staff for NTPHC Stonday.
Director, School Education, Ladakh, Shri Tsering Paldan informed that proposals for the upgradation of the schools had already been submitted to the Ministry of Education, Government of India. He highlighted the need for feasibility reports for the proposals. The HLG directed Director, School Education, Ladakh, to prepare a proposal for the upgradation of the schools for the next financial year.
Director, Health Services, Ladakh, Dr Motup Dorjey informed the HLG that NTPHC Stonday had been upgraded in the erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir State but the necessary posts were not sanctioned after the upgradation. The HLG directed Director, Health Services, Ladakh, to examine the matter
