ICDS Project Kargil celebrates Intl. Women’s Day in Kargil .
Kargil, March 08, 2024: Mission Shakti ICDS Kargil in convergence with District Legal Services Authority Kargil (DLSA) and Women Special Cell Kargil today organized a program on International Women’s Day at Auditorium, Hall Kargil.
On the occasion Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Aga Syeed Mujtaba Mussavi was the chief guest, Principal District and Session Judge/Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kargil, Malik Shabeer Ahmad was the Guest of honor.
The others who attended the event included District Program Officer, ICDS Project Kargil, Nargis Banoo, District Social Welfare Officer, Padma Angmo (special guest), Superintendent Handloom, Arifa Iqbal, SHO Women Police Station, Diskit Ladol, Psychiatric Nurse, Syeda Banoo, Panel Advocate DLSA Kargil, Advocate Haji Murtaza, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel Kargil, Adv. Syed Mehdi Aga, Assistance Legal Aid Defense Counsel Kargil, Adv Nissar Hussain, DLSA Staff members, CDPOs, Supervisors, PLVs, ICDS Staff members, staff members of One Stop Centre Kargil and large number of women from different areas of Kargil including ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, Executive Councilor LAHDC, Aga Syeed Mujtaba Mussavi highlighted women empowerment. He also emphasized that men and women have equal responsibility in society. He advocated for gender equality, stating that discrimination between men and women should not exist in society, emphasizing equal opportunities for all.
Guest of honor, the District and Session Judge Kargil Malik Shabeer Ahmad also highlighted the women-related Laws and Acts. He further mentioned about 125 Act, women related maintenance. He also highlighted the achievements of women in society and stressed their equal participation for a healthy and prosperous society, promoting gender equality and societal advancement.
SHO Women Special Cell Kargil, Diskit Ladol also spoke on the occasion and talked about the social equality, gender equality, discrimination and other rights of women.
Amina Bano briefed about the services being provided by the ICDS. Psychiatric Nurse, Syeda Banoo gave a presentation on women and mental health.
Adv. Haji Murtaza Panel Advocate DLSA Kargil also spoke about the importance of celebration of such events and shared his experience related to his profession emphasizing that women should come forward in every aspect of the field whether it’s indoor or outdoor activities.
Adv. Nissar Hussain Assistance legal Aid Defense Counsel Kargil stressed on social rights, women empowerment, gender equality and also advised to enjoy a life with full happiness.
District Project Manager, LRLM Kargil, Muneer Rasool also delivered a powerpoint presentation and showcased the success stories of the women associated with the SHGs, LRLM.
Social Activist, Khadim Hussain also delivered his speech on celebrating IWD. During the event, pamphlets highlighting the rights of women were distributed among the participants. In the end, vote of thanks was presented by the District Program Officer, ICDS Project Kargil, Nargis Banoo.
The DLSA Kargil also celebrated the IWD in court complex Baroo Kargil. The function was attended by all the female employees of District Court Kargil and Lady advocates from bar.
The Principal District and Session Judge/Chairman DLSA Kargil was the chief guest of the function. The Principal District and Session Judge/Chairman DLSA Kargil enlightened the female employees about their rights and also felicitated them with medals for their outstanding performance and balance in their professional as well as personal life.
