Principal, GDC Nubra Dr. Tsewang Motup welcome the guest followed by the speech of Advocate Zulikha Bano wherein she elaborately highlighted various provisions available for the protection of women.
Besides, Economics Department GDC Nubra Assistant Professor Stanzin Padma, enlightened the gathering about women empowerment.
Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Nubra, Chemit Yourgyal addressed the audience about the challenges faced by women at various level in the society and the provisions available thereof. He also stressed upon the role that the Tehsil Legal Services Committee plays at the community level in the form of legal clinics at various places. It was informed that the committee has appointed Para Legal volunteers (PLVs) as intermediaries bridging the gap between the common people and the Legal Services Institutions to remove impediments in access to justice.
The student of GDC Nubra also actively participated in the event and presented a cultural programme.
The students also spoke on the occasion in their vernacular languages.
