Jr Statistical Asst aspirants & outsourced employees in Hospitality and Protocol Dept call on Hon’ble Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).
Leh, June 14, 2024: A delegation comprising aspirants of Junior Statistical Assistant led by Shri Ajaz Ali called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Commissioner/Secretary to HLG, Shri L Franklin, IAS and Secretary, GAD, Shri Micheal D’ Souza were present in the meeting.
Shri Ali informed the HLG that 56 posts of Statistical Assistant and 21 posts of Junior Statistical Assistant were advertised by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in 2022. He informed the HLG SSC about shortlisting of the same candidates for both posts by SSC and the joining of the selected candidates for the Statistical Assistant. He further informed about the notification of two s by SSC for the post of Junior Statistical Assistant in which the names of the candidates who have already opted for the post of Statistical Assistant appear.
Shri Ali informed the HLG about the withdrawal of 10 posts of Junior Statistical Assistant by the SSC in the unreserved (UR) category. Shri Ali requested the HLG’s intervention in taking up the matter with SSC.
The HLG assured them that all the vacant posts of JSA should be filled by considering candidate who have achieved the minimum qualifying marks. He instructed that no fresh advertisement notice should be notified for the same posts been left unfilled by SSC. The HLG directed Secretary, GAD, Shri Micheal D’Souza to atke up the matter with the SSC.
A delegation of outsourced employees working in Hospitality and Protocol Department led by Shri Tousef Hussain called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lieutenant Governor Secretariat. Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Commissioner/Secretary to HLG, Shri Laltinkhuma Franklin, IAS; Secretary, GAD, Shri Micheal D’ Souza, IAS and Director Finance, Dr Safdar Ali, IRS were present in the meeting.
Shri Tousef apprised the HLG that they have been working as outsourced employees in the department of Hospitality and Protocol since 2020. He informed the HLG about the deduction of salaries by the Central Committee for Outsourced Employees in the report submitted by them and requested to continue their salaries as earlier.
Director, Finance and Treasuries, Ladakh, Shri Safdar Ali informed about the study conducted by the Central Committee for Outsourced employees and the disparity found in the salaries of outsourced employees working on the same post. He informed about the committee’s recommendation to provide the basic salary of the post against which the outsourced person has been engaged.
The HLG stated that all the employees should get equal pay for the same post without any pay disparity. He said that the UT administration has followed 7th Pay Commission norms and decided to pay the basic salary of posts against which the outsourced person has been engaged.
