Leh, June 15, 2024: A delegation comprising members of Looms of Ladakh Women Cooperative Ltd led by its CEO, Smt Shakeela Banoo, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Advisor to the HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Commissioner/ Secretary to HLG, Shri L Franklin, IAS and Deputy Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Smt Sumaira Shafi, JKAS, were present in the meeting.
Smt Banoo informed the HLG that Looms of Ladakh is a women’s cooperative society working in the textile sector in Ladakh. She requested the HLG to provide industrial land on lease at the Industrial Estate, Leh.
Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS, asked Looms of Ladakh to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) and submit it to the Industries and Commerce Department for land lease.
Deputy Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Smt Sumaira Shafi informed the HLG about the possibility of providing land by UT Administration on lease to Looms of Ladakh under its Industrial Policy at the Industrial Estate.
The HLG assured to look into the matter and provide all possible support to them.
