    CEC Dr Jaffer attends inter school declamation competition at Army Goodwill School Harka Bahadur.
    Kargil, June 19, 2024: Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today attended the inter school declamation competition at Army Goodwill School Harka Bahadur.
    During the event, Brigadier Prateek Parasa 121 Brigade, Karnal Daljit Singh principal of the school teachers and students from different schools were present.
    Speaking on the occasion, the CEC Kargil congratulated the principal staff and students of the Army Goodwill School for organizing the competition.
    The CEC hailed the efforts of Indian Army for cementing the bridge between civilians and Army by channelising various public oriented initiatives and programs. He added that the establishment of Army Goodwill School at various locations of the district is one of the examples.
    CEC Dr Jaffer recalled the valour and sacrifices given by Indian Army during the 1971 and 1999 Kargil War. He said Not only Indian nation but the people of Kargil will never forget the sacrifices the bravery and the valour shown by Indian Army to protect the motherland during these difficult times.
    The CEC also appreciated the social services being rendered by the Indian Army at any point of need to the civilians. He also said that during winter season, many patients have been airlifted through helicopter to Srinagar and other places.
    He also appreciated the cordial relationship between the Indian Army and the civilians. CEC Dr Jaffer appreciated the contribution of locals during India and Pakistan war. CEC Kargil said along with the Indian Army people of Kargil will always stand shoulder to shoulder to protect the motherland.
    Dr Jaffer appreciated the students from different schools for participating in the event. He said such events should be conducted regularly by Army so that the coming generation would know the rich legacy of Indian Army.
    CEC Dr Jaffer also announced Rs 3 lakh for Army Goodwill School for the purchase of immediate needed equipment for the school.
    Meanwhile, 16 schools from the district participated in the event. Later, prizes were distributed among the position holders. Pertinently, the theme of the event was Kargil Vijay Diwas 2024.
