CEC Dr Jaffer chairs meeting on key district issues, development plans.
Kargil, June 20, 2024: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today chaired an important meeting to address several issues in the district.
Executive Councilor, Education; EC, PHE, EC, Information; Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil; Superintendent Engineer R&B; AEE R&B, Division Kargil; Accounts Officer to Deputy Commissioner and Naib Tehsildar, Kargil attended the meeting.
The CEC emphasized the need to vacate illegally allotted residential quarters for LAHDC Kargil Councillors. He instructed for the establishment of rules for 1-BHK and 2-BHK occupancy. Furthermore, he directed to debit electricity bills from concerned stakeholders and ordered Naib Tehsildar to take necessary actions to enforce these measures.
CEC Dr. Jaffer also discussed the preparation of plans under the CCDA for 2024-25. He instructed the construction of the main gate of the Council Secretariat and called for the installation of a round-shaped gate to improve access and landscaping of the council premises.
He also directed the installation of parabolic signage at the main entrance of the Council. The CEC stressed the importance of ensuring the proper functioning of submersible pumps installed at the Council.
He also highlighted the preparations for the visit of His Holiness to Sapi village, instructing the construction of a road to Sapi Gompa. He also directed DC Kargil for the recommendation of ex-gratia relief for the victims of Zojila accident.
He also considered the establishment of a residential hostel for special children, instructing Executive Councilor Kacho Mohammad Feroz and Executive Councilor Zakir Hussain to inspect the site at Trespone and submit a report.
The CEC sought suggestions for “Vision 2024” to create a roadmap for the development of the district in education, tourism, health, and other sectors.
Addressing the mining issues in the district, he assured that a meeting would be convened soon to resolve these issues. Further, the CEC instructed Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, to arrange tea and water facilities for Sindhu Darshan pilgrims.
