Kargil, June 27, 2024: A meeting under the chairmanship of Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon with Secretary, Rural Development Department, Transport, IT, S&T and DMRRR UT Ladakh, Amit Sharma was held today to discuss the attribution & compensation cases related to Kargil-Zanskar National Highway.
The Secretary, who is the Attributor for NHIDCL acquisition, was briefed on various issues concerning compensation, residential impacts, damage compensation and other related matters.
During the meeting, the Secretary emphasised his commitment to address the concerns of the people, stating that priority will be given to people and their issues.
He instructed the Deputy Commissioner Kargil to conduct another meeting and provide him with factual reports on the matters discussed. The Secretary also suggested that NHIDCL thoroughly study all the issues raised by the Councillors.
An applicant present at the meeting shared his concerns about compensation. The Secretary assured him and other attendees that, as an attributor, he would extend all possible support within the framework of the rules, ensuring that justice is served in each case. He pledged to thoroughly study the relevant rules and verify all documents.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Councillor (Revenue); Executive Councillor (Information); Deputy Commissioner (Kargil); Additional Deputy Commissioner (Kargil); Councillors from LAHDC Kargil representing Town, Baroo-Minjee, Saliskote, and Lankerchey, as well as XEN (R&B), DFO (Kargil), Consultant DC (NHIDCL), GM (NHIDCL), IT Manager, Public Law Officer, and other concerned officials.
