CEC Dr Akhoon, Captain Mohd Hussain Commander Airbus/Boeing assess aircraft landing feasibility at Khumbuthang

Kargil, August 03, 2024: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon and Captain Mohd Hussain Commander Airbus/Boeing today took assessment of aircraft landing feasibility at Khumbuthang TSG block.
Captain Mohd Hussain informed the CEC Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) had been submitted to the office of Hon’ble LG Ladakh by the Council back in September, 2020 confirming the suitability of the site for aircraft take-off and landing. He emphasised that the location meets the necessary criteria for aviation operations.
The CEC requested Captain Mohd Hussain to resubmit the DPR for further deliberation with higher authorities to expedite the process and potentially initiate the project. Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon also assured a follow up meeting on coming Monday.
