Leh, August 07: Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was started under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it to mark India’s independence. With the objective to celebrate the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign this year also and to ensure its success, the Advisor to Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Ladakh, Dr Pawan Kotwal convened a meeting to discuss the preparations and related activities at the UT Secretariat yesterday.
The Advisor informed during the meeting that the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign will be celebrated from 13th-15th August, 2024 with the rest of the country and various activities will be organized at UT, district and sub-divisional levels involving people from all walks of life including students under the “Har Ghar Tiranga’ banner. He exhorted on spreading the message wide and far to encourage people to hoist national flags in their premises and upload selfies with the flag on www.harghartiranga.com.
The Advisor emphasized on organizing Tringa Pledge taking activities and directed the Culture Department to translate the exact text of Tiranga pledge in local languages and make it available to the public. He urged the concerned Administrative Secretaries to ensure timely directions for hoisting of the national flags at all the Government buildings with proper illumination at night. He asked the DCs to involve PSUs, schools, colleges and to identify prominent locations for hoisting of the flags. More importantly, Dr Kotwal laid stress on lowering of the flags on 15th August evening and to ensure its proper disposal as per the Flag Code of India.
As per the direction of Ministry of Culture & Tourism, GoI, the Advisor directed the DCs of both Leh and Kargil districts to put up a Tiranga Canvas in the prescribed ratio of national flag (2:3) at a common place and get it signed with prominent personalities, leaders and residents in both the districts. He informed that such canvas from each state will be brought to Delhi and stitched together for display at Red Fort during the programme of 15th August.
He further directed the DCs to organize major Tiranga Yatra in their respective districts and also at Sub-division level in collaboration with the Hill Councils and ensuring participation of local representatives, schools, colleges, organisations and residents with their flags. Besides, he directed them to organize Tiranga Concerts featuring patriotic songs and cultural performances to celebrate the spirit of freedom and national pride and also to ensure the playing of the Tiranga Anthem produced by the Ministry of Culture during these concerts. Dr Kotwal also urged the Police Department and Education Department to organize activities at their level to ensure maximum participation in this campaign.
