GDC, Nubra celebrates Har Ghar Tiranga
GDC, Nubra celebrates Har Ghar Tiranga.
August 14,2024: The Department of Political Science, Government Degree College , Nubra, under the chairmanship of Principal, Dr Tsewang Motup celebrated “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign from 12th August till 14th August 2024. The Har Ghar Tiranga is a campaign initiated by Govt. of India to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and proudly hoist it in celebration of our nation’s Independence.
On the first day, the Flag Hoisting Ceremony was held, followed by the National Anthem and Tiranga Pledge by the students, faculty and staff of the college. On the second day, all the faculty members of the college hoisted flags at their respective residence and uploaded their selfies on the harghartiranga.com and obtained Certificate of Appreciation. On the final day, a Speech Competition and Poster Making Competition was organized on the theme: “Role of Freedom Fighters in the Independence of India”. The event started with a speech by the Principal of the College, Dr. Tsewang Motup whereby he highlighted the significance of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and the importance of the national flag. The students then delivered their speeches on the said theme followed by the presentation of the posters by the students.
In the Poster Making Competition, 1st Position was awarded to Naziya Anjum of UG First Semester, 2nd Position was secured by Farida bano of First Semester, whereas in the Speech Competition 1st prize was awarded to Sanju Kumari of Third Semester and 2nd Position was secured by Mohd. Mussa of Third Semester. The winners were awarded with cashprizes.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Assistant Professor Rinchen Angmo, Dept of Political Science. The programme was hosted by Zara Batul, a student of Third Semester of the college.
