Minority Loan Scheme Awareness Camp cum Loan Mela Held at Khalsi Sub-Division.
Khalsi, Leh – August 27, 2024 – The Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Finance Corporation (JKLFC), in collaboration with the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), successfully organized the 6th day of the Minority Loan Scheme Awareness Camp cum Loan Mela at the Community Hall, Khalsi, in the Khalsi Sub-Division of Leh district.
The event was presided over by Jigmet Namgail, District Incharge, JKLFC Leh and Kargil. Lobzang Shesrab, Councillor of Khalsi, LAHDC Leh, served as the Chief Guest, alongside other notable guests, including Naib Tehsildar Khalsi, Nambardar Khalsi, and the President of the Merchant Association, Khalsi. Over 30 villagers, including youth and merchants, attended to gain insights into the Minority Loan Scheme and register for loans.
In his address, Councillor Shesrab emphasized the importance of these schemes in promoting economic growth and sustainable development within the community. He praised the organizers for their efforts and encouraged the continuation of such initiatives across Ladakh. He also shared the latest developments from the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the inclusion of the Sham region as a new district, highlighting the potential benefits of establishing a JKLFC district office in the area.
The councillor urged young entrepreneurs and unemployed youth to explore the loan schemes provided by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, which are designed to empower the minority community with minimal interest loans. He assured participants of his support in overcoming any challenges in accessing these schemes.
A local entrepreneur, Jigmet Rangi, suggested setting up a JKLFC extension counter in the area to enhance the implementation of these schemes beyond awareness camps.
Earlier, Jigmet Namgail, District Incharge of Leh and Kargil, JKLFC, delivered a welcome speech, explaining the various loan schemes available. He also addressed questions during a Q&A session. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Jigmet Namgail, who expressed satisfaction with the turnout and the active engagement of the participants.
