Sankoo Campus, GDC Kargil observes International Translation Day.
Kargil, Sept 30, 2024: Department of English, Sankoo Campus, Govt. Degree College Kargil, today observed the International Translation Day, themed, ‘Translation, an art worth protecting,’ in the prefab hall, Science Block of the campus.
The program commenced with an introductory talk delivered by Dr Azra Khatoon, Head of the Department of English. She highlighted the importance of translation in the globalized world that aids in cultural exchange, economic growth, building powerful international affairs, and global inclusivity in language and communication.
The talk was followed by the screening of a video segment pertaining to the theme of the day. Subsequently, an interactive session with the students took place.
Padma Wangmo presented the concluding speech, underscoring the importance of language and translation. A total number of 64 students participated in the program.
