    Sankoo Campus, GDC Kargil organizes program on ‘Menstrual Health and Hygiene’.
    Kargil, October 01, 2024: Department of English, Sankoo Campus, Govt. Degree College Kargil in collaboration with Shoqpa Foundation conducted a community program on ‘Menstrual Health and Hygiene’ in the prefab hall, in Science Block of the campus.
    Fatima Banoo and Archo Sajida, the Statistical Officials from the DC Office attended the program. Dr Azra Khatoon, Head of the English Department, Sankoo Campus formally welcomed the guests with traditional khataqs and presented the welcome note.
    Nousheen Fatima, Director of the Shoqpa Foundation, along with Kaneez Fatima, a volunteer with the organization, kicked off the workshop on Menstrual Health and Hygiene. They presented a diagram of the female reproductive system and educated the audience on the fundamentals of the menstrual cycle.
    The team further emphasized the harmful effects of conventional sanitary napkins and encouraged female participants to opt for cloth pads, which are healthier, eco-friendly, and sustainable.
    They also provided information on the use of menstrual cups and tampons. The program saw active interaction and participation, with attendees demonstrating enthusiasm and interest throughout the session.
    The event was moderated by Dr. Azra Khatoon, with Padma Wangmo delivering the vote of thanks. A total of 85 participants attended the workshop, and at the end of the program, each participant received four cloth sanitary napkins.
