District Child Protection Unit, Kargil organizes awareness programs for children.
Kargil, October 9, 2024: The District Child Protection Unit, Kargil conducted awareness programs cum drawing competitions for children on critical issues affecting their well-being.
The events, held at Child Care Institution Ladakh Yateem Trust, Lankerchay, and Jawadiah Project Care, Minjee, aimed to educate children on Child rights under Juvenile Justice Act 2015, personal hygiene, impact of drugs and tobacco, scholarship schemes, POCSO Act, Clean India and Green India.
Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee, Kargil emphasized the significance of child rights, while the Probation Officer stressed the need for care and protection. Project Officer of Drugs De-addiction Centre, Kargil highlighted the importance of awareness among children and the general public.
The programs were attended by members of Child Welfare Committee, Kargil, employees, District Child Protection Unit, Kargil, employees of Drugs De-addiction Centre, Kargil, employees of Child Helpline, staff of Ladakh Yateem Trust and Jawadiah Project Care, Kargil.
Refreshments distributed among children and interactive sessions and engaging activities held in the awareness program.
