Kargil, October 12, 2024: The Sampoornata Abhiyan, a comprehensive campaign under the Aspirational Block Programme of NITI Aayog, culminated in a grand “Samapan Samaroh” at the common facility centre in Karsha.
This three-month-long initiative has been a testament to the power of collective effort and the unwavering spirit of community development.
The closing ceremony was attended by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Zanskar, Romil Singh Donk along with other block-level officials, Anganwadi workers, and local residents.
It was a celebration of the remarkable 100 percent saturation achieved in four out of the six key indicators of the campaign, highlighting the transformative journey of the block.
The event served as a platform to honor the dedication of frontline workers and block officers whose tireless efforts were instrumental in the campaign’s success.
Certificates of appreciation were awarded by the SDM, recognizing the exemplary contributions of these individuals. The distribution of soil health cards to farmers by the SDM was a significant highlight, symbolizing the sustainable agricultural practices being promoted as part of the initiative.
The SDM underscored the collective endeavors that paved the way for the campaign’s achievements. He commended the unique products of the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and encouraged further innovation to distinguish Karsha block’s offerings.
His emphasis on women’s health, hygiene and economic empowerment through SHGs resonated with the audience, reinforcing the campaign’s commitment to holistic development.
The Block Development Officer (BDO) also shared insights into the Sampoornata Abhiyan’s journey and substantial progress made over the past three months.
The celebration of a decade of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) and the attainment of ODF+ status by the block were proud moments, reflecting the enduring impact of the campaign on sanitation and public health.
The collaborative spirit extended to the line departments, each sharing updates on their respective indicators, showcasing a unified front in the pursuit of the campaign’s goals.
The “Paushtik Aahar Mela” organized by the ICDS department and the NCD screening camp by the Health department were key attractions, demonstrating the campaign’s focus on nutrition and health.
The involvement of the SHGs of Karsha village in providing catering services for the event was a testament to self-reliance and community participation.
