Directorate of Mission Shakti conducts informative program on legal rights of women, children at Drass.
Kargil, Oct 25: Directorate of Mission Shakti (Social and Tribal Welfare) successfully conducted an engaging and informative programme aimed at raising awareness about the legal rights of women and children. The event was held at Govt Higher Secondary School Hall, Drass Kargil on 24th October.
The program was attended by around 80 participants including students and a few teachers of Govt Higher Secondary School, Drass.
Resource person Tashi Lamo, Research and Training Specialist of State Hub for Empowerment of Women gave a detailed presentation on Laws Protecting Rights of Women and Children.
The programme also focused on educating the students and staff about the legal mechanisms and procedures to pursue when such rights are violated.
The program highlighted critical issues such as domestic violence, child protection laws. Special emphasis was placed on the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.
The programme also focused on educating the students and staff about the legal mechanisms and procedures to pursue when such rights are violated. The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and raised insightful questions.
