DC Leh Santosh Sukhadeve convenes meeting with Semschan Welfare Society

Leh, October 28, 2024: The Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, convened a meeting with members of Semschan Welfare Society at the DC Office Video Conference Hall on October 28, 2024.
During the meeting, the society discussed the Animal Care Centre shed with the Deputy Commissioner, who committed to funding it through the Red Cross Society. Officials from Municipal Committee informed that the shed’s installation will be completed by next Sunday.
Provisions for rice and dog food were also discussed by the members and officers. The AD, FCS&CA Ruth Mary stated that rice can be provided to NGOs with the District Administrator’s approval under FCI rules. DC Leh instructed officers to explore CSR initiatives for rice payment and offered installment-based provision with a small societal contribution. He also informed that the dog food cannot be included or arranged by the administration.
A site visit was arranged with Municipal Committee officials and Semschan Welfare Society members to access the progress and works of the society.
The meeting was attended by Administrator Municipal Committee/ ADDC Sonam Nurboo, Chief Planning Officer Tsewang Gyalson, Assistant Director FCS&CA Ruth Mary and other officials from Municipal Committee and members from Semschan Welfare Society.
