    Various delegations call on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra in Kargil.
    Kargil, November 08, 2024: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Ladakh, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd.) was called on Wednesday (November 06) by several delegations from different areas of Kargil at Raj Niwas, Kargil.
    Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse and Additional Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman were present during the meetings.
    A delegation led by Councillor, GM Pore, Syed Ali called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra and raised various issues including sanctioning of sub division status to GM Pore. The delegation thanked the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor for upgradation of Girls High School GM Pore to Girls Higher Secondary School GM Pore.
    In respect of sanctioning of sub division status to GM Pore, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor said that the needful will be done as per rules.
    A delegation led by Chief Patron BJP, Sankoo, Ghulam Mohd called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and presented a memorandum seeking construction of Panikhar-Pahalgam road and tourism development initiatives in Suru Valley.
    Regarding the construction of Panikhar-Pahalgam road, the Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse apprised that the project has been approved at the UT level and has been sent to Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) for approval.
    For tourism development in Suru Valley, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed DC Kargil to tour the area and examine the matter. The HLG said that the UT administration is committed to the development and promotion of tourism and assured the delegation that needful will be done.
    President of Teachers Association, Liyaqat Hussain also called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and requested for the conversion of Grade-1, G-2 teachers into General Line Teachers. In this regard, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed Director School Education Ladakh, Tsering Paldan to examine the matter and take necessary action.
    The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor interacted with various other delegations and individuals from across the district including officials of various departments as well as persons seeking financial assistance. He gave a patient hearing to all their issues and said that their genuine demands will be looked into as per norms within specific time-lines.
