    GDC Drass takes high-altitude trekking guide students on thrilling hike to Tololing Mountain.

    Kargil, Dec 07, 2024: Govt. Degree College, Drass, today organized a high-altitude hike to Tololing Mountain as part of its High-Altitude Trekking Guide programme.
    The trek, reaching elevations from 10,400 ft to 11,200 ft, offered students practical training in route navigation, altitude acclimatization, and sustainable trekking practices under the guidance of instructor Suhail Ahmad Bhat, High Altitude Trekking Guide Programme.
    Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi, Principal of the college, lauded the initiative, stating, “Drass provides a perfect natural classroom for aspiring trekking guides, enabling them to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world application. Such practical experiences are vital for building skilled professionals in adventure tourism.”
    Shujaat Ali Mir, Coordinator of the Skill Development Course said this hike was an excellent opportunity for students to develop confidence and leadership skills essential for high-altitude trekking.
    Participants expressed enthusiasm for the training, calling it a transformative experience that prepared them for the challenges of guiding in rugged terrain. Through such activities, the college continues to equip students to excel in the adventure tourism sector while promoting sustainable practices.
