GDC Khaltse Conducts Admission Drive at Various Feeder Schools of Sham Regions.
Khaltsi, December 9, 2024: To increase student enrollment, Government Degree College (GDC) Khaltse conducted an admission drive across several feeder schools in the Sham region.
On December 7, a team of Assistant Professors visited Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Temisgang. More than 20 class 12th students attended the session, where the team presented a detailed overview of the college’s available facilities and the various courses currently being offered.
On December 9, around 50 students of class 12th from GHSS Khaltse were invited to the college campus. The students were warmly welcomed by the Assistant Professor Ms Deachen Angmo, followed by a detailed presentation from Sonam Yangdol and Mepham Dolker, 3rd semester students at GDC Khaltse. The presentation provided insights into the academic programs and campus facilities. Afterward, a question-and-answer session allowed students to ask faculty members about the courses and campus life. Teachers addressed the students’ queries, ensuring they had the necessary information.
Following the interactive session, the visiting students toured the college library, Girls’ Hostel, and Sports Room, gaining first-hand experience of the college’s infrastructure. Senior students of the college also shared their college experience with the school students. Earlier, Senior Assistant Professor Ms Konchok Chhorol In-Charge Principal of the college, gave a detailed presentation on NEP (National Education Policy) 2020. She also stressed students to take admission in the college. She further emphasised that now Higher Education facilities is available at their doorstep in UT Ladakh and students must make most it without wasting their precious time.
College admission committee intends to conduct a similar admission drive at Govt. Higher Secondary School Skurbuchan December 12, 2024. The event was well received, sparking interest among the students. With the growing enthusiasm, the college anticipates an increase in enrollments for the upcoming academic session.
