    District Admin Kargil in collaboration with Youth Action Committee Kargil organizes conference on International Anti-Corruption Day.

    Kargil Dec 09, 2024: District Administration Kargil, in collaboration with Youth Action Committee Kargil, Ladakh today organized one-day conference on International Anti-Corruption Day under the theme, “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity,” highlighting role of youth in combating corruption.
    Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse was the chief guest, SSP Kargil Shree Raam R was the guest of honor. District Chief Vigilance Office and Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani, district officers, teachers and student’s from different colleges and schools and members of Youth Action Committee Kargil and many others participated in the event.
    While speaking on the occasion, DC Kargil emphasized the collective responsibility to eradicate corruption, urging coordinated efforts from all sections of society. The DC urged self-introspection by every stakeholders and uphold justice & transparency in every action and initiative being taken by departments . He said administration reviews every complaint as per merit and takes actions . He also highlighted the critical role of youth in combating corruption and fostering transparency in governance.
    SSP Kargil, Shree Raam R informed the participants about key anti-corruption laws, including RTI Act-2005, Prevention of Corruption Act-1988 and Lokpal Act-2013, emphasizing their role in promoting transparency. He emphasized the crucial role of police in combating corruption, ensuring accountability, and maintaining transparency within the system.
    District Chief Vigilance Officer and ADC Kargil also highlighted the significance of International Anti-Corruption Day.
    The ADC stressed the need for collective honesty and coordination to create a corruption-free society.
    He stated that the purpose of observing the day is to raise awareness among the public, especially youth and students, about the importance of combating corruption and working towards a corruption-free society.
    President Youth Action Committee, Shabir Hussain, in his speech, explained the purpose and significance of the event in promoting anti-corruption awareness. He highlighted the role of Youth Action Committee in combating corruption in Kargil, emphasizing its active involvement in promoting transparency and accountability.
    During the event, an inter-school speech competition was held, and the position holders were awarded prizes by the chief guest. In the end, member Youth Action Committee Khadim Hussain thanked the District Administration especially the chief guest for successful collaboration of the event. He extended gratitude to all participants, marking the end of the event with words of thanks.
