The team comprised Dr Mansoor Hussain, Dr Bilquees Fatima, Sajjad Hussain SVP and other officials of the department and army officials from indian army.
Despite the challenging conditions with temperatures plummeting to minus 10 degree celsius, the camp successfully provided much-needed veterinary services to local farming community, who rely heavily on livestock for their livelihood.
During the camp, on-the-spot treatment was provided to 33 large animals, including four donkeys, as well as several small ruminants. A variety of free feed supplements and essential medicines were distributed to improve the health and productivity of the livestock. Vaccination and deworming drives were also carried out to safeguard animals from common diseases prevalent in the harsh winter climate of Ladakh.
The team of veterinarians also conducted an awareness session for livestock owners, emphasizing topics such as winter care, disease prevention, balanced nutrition, and modern animal husbandry practices to enhance livestock productivity and sustainability.
